::Event Stage: Star Stadium::
As Wizard technology kept on growing and battle-capable models became more and more commonplace, people began to be interested in pitting EM Wave combatants against each other, as well as witnessing these kinds of battles. Though the Platz Foundation had some interest in capitalizing on this trend, they didn't want to permanently renovate Nacy's event stage for it, and weren't too keen on spending funds on building a specialized establishment for that purpose. However, one of their business partners who was interested in that prospect made a deal with them, offering to cover most of the costs for building a stadium equipped for Wave Battles. And so, that was how the structure that would eventually be known as the Star Stadium came to being.
On the outside, the circular structure is fairly unambitious, with a brown lower section where the entrance can be located, and an upper section with green glass panes all along its sides, as well as a white closed roof. Real Wave pop-ups are displayed by the entrance whenever an event is taking place, with a Hertz also shouting loudly to gather the attention of the passersby.
The inside of the stadium is a bit gaudier, with brightly-lit corridors, mahogany-colored walls and red carpets along the floor. After stepping foot into the building, a Wizard will welcome visitors and direct them to the reception booth at the end of the entrance hallway. That booth, in which there's usually only one person behind the counter, is where visitors can ask for all sorts of information about the stadium and whatever event is taking place. Bets are collected in case a betting match is taking place, and an attendance fee is charged in case an event that requires one is being run. The receptionist also offers other services, such as providing footage of some of the more noteworthy battle that took place in the past, as well as allowing visitors to schedule the stadium for their own usage.
From the reception booth, visitors can go either left or right, either side leading to a hallway that mirrors the one on the opposing side of the stadium. All along the hallways are stairs leading up into the stands, with assistant Wizards stationed near each staircase to help direct spectators to their seats. At the end of each of the long hallways is a waiting room, each reserved for a fighter and whoever else they allow in, as well as the medical crew, usually composed of a human and a couple Wizards, who act only if requested to or in emergency situations. This waiting room has a long bench, a bathroom, and an arc-shaped empty doorway that leads to a similarly-shaped hallway, from which the screams of the announcer and the crowd are easy to make out.
At the end of that hallway, regardless of which waiting room they came from, the fighters will arrive at the same location: the area where their combat is to take place. The main stage is usually a circular field with blank tiles, though those can be changed depending on the circumstances. In some occasions, a Real Wave generator is used to produce an orange-tiled boxing ring that takes up most of the arena, usually reserved for officially sponsored events. The stands that circle the arena are fairly plain, and contain multiple seats for spectators as well as sections reserved for cameras and an announcer. There are also two large screens, one on either side of the stadium, that usually display the action that is going on, but can also be used to showcase information relevant to the fight.
The Star Stadium was originally used for betting matches between EM Wave combatants, and hadn't gotten its name yet. Eventually, the company that worked alongside the Platz Foundation to build the stadium felt comfortable enough to open the arena's doors to official fighting competitions, and gave it that name when they hosted the first and, to date, the most popular of them, the Battle Wizard Royal™. After attempting to host a few other tournaments to varying degrees of success, the company sunk into the shadows, leaving the Platz Foundation to maintain the place on their own.
Nowadays, betting matches are still held in this stadium, and don't require much of an advance scheduling. A few small-scale Wave Battle tournaments are also held here from time to time, as well as martial sports competitions, which to this day and age still manage to draw quite a crowd.
The Event Stage: Star Stadium supports only Null Panels normally, though other panels can be preset for a battle if both fighters agreed to it beforehand. Battles within take place on the Real World only, and fighters are forbidden from switching to the Wave World during one.
Officially sanctioned battles within the Star Stadium require that combatants select two weapons from their arsenal, and use no other weapons. Up to four panels of any type can be agreed upon by the combatants to be present as Natural Panels. Combatants cannot use battle cards of a higher tier than Mega Class Cards within the Stadium, and transformations are limited to Noise Forms. A unique feature to the Star Stadium enables observers to bet up to 1,000z on their preferred combatant, and, if that combatant wins, the betters receive twice their bet back, and the combatant in question receives the total value of all accumulated bets for them and their opponent.
