A shuddering groan rose from Luke as the Boom Spark's electricity tore through him, causing his muscles to tense in agony. At the same time his hold on the virus turned into an inescapable vice, each spasm rippling through him likely enough to pulverize the puffball in his arms. Alfie's white body was torn apart, his remaining head disappearing into Luke's before reemerging for a quick bite loaded with venom.
The crumbling cube Luke stood upon fell apart beneath his feet and he dropped like a stone to the ground where a moment later the SandShark made contact with his crouched form. The same attack that he had weathered before plowed into Luke with unmitigated force as the virus heaved him for but a moment before tossing his limp body away, sending him rolling until he eventually stopped face down on a patch of rime near the remains of the Happy Flower.
Kihel watched in horror as Luke suffered a horrific 1-2 combo as a result of his bearhug. Unable to shoot already out of fear of hitting him, she floated there, pointing with futility as voltage coursed through his body. He dropped to the ground, seemingly unmoving, as the sharp took a vicious bite out of him. Torn between checking on him and attacking the viruses, Kihel could only float there. 'Is... is he dead?'
'If he were dead, the conversion would've broken. He's alive, but effectively a hostage if he's actually knocked out.' A red hue overtook her HUD, indicating Kihel had lost control for the time being. 'No time to strategize in this case, so watch and learn what you can.'
The sudden pressure on her back indicating to Kihel the thrusters were on overdrive, pushing the conversion towards the trio. Her right arm raised in a robotic manner, now under new management for the time being, and fired the gatling at the Boom Spark, hoping for a repeat of earlier. With each bullet fired, Kihel could feel the conversion slow a bit, the recoil taking a toil on their speed. The left arm soon followed, a beam racing towards the SandShark, the shot temporarily stopping them.
Shortly after she landed near Luke, keeping her guns trained on either virus. "Is everyone ok?" Came the robotic voice from the conversion, not a hint of urgency or emotion present. While only Luke had introduced himself, Secrecy had a hunch a wizard was likely part of it as well. Otherwise it wouldn't have been able to attempt that attack after the electrocution. "Are you able to move at all?"

The Boom Spark had known that escape would be impossible even before it had popped out to attack, so it didn't bother offering any resistance when the conductor gripped it ever tighter, eventually tearing two chunks off it while his snake ate away another piece of the virus. What remained of its body had been about to burst apart on its own, but the gatling fire that followed sped up the process, turning the green creature and its orange cloud into tiny particles that dispersed upwards.
The SandShark was delighted with the aftermath of its assault, and decided to follow up with another go at the downed Wave Warrior. However, in its bloodlust, the virus had neglected to dive down before resuming its attack, so when it turned around to charge at the conductor again, it was struck dead on its center by the beam from the flying robot. At first, it didn't seem like the shark was too affected by the hole blown clean through it as it simply kept on charging ahead, but just before it could make contact with its target, the virus' body came undone, splitting apart into fragments that flew up and came shy of touching either Wave Warrior.
The impromptu duo had successfully eliminated another group of viruses, though this time around they weren't as successful in keeping themselves unharmed. They would be afforded a moment to recover from the injuries they sustained, as well as reflect on whether they would want to keep on challenging the junkyard's dwellers. After all, the threats were likely to only get worse from that point on.

Luke cracked his eyes open, blinking once and then again to ascertain his ongoing status as one of the living. He could feel heat from the sun shining on his back but at the same time he was really cold. Digging his fingers into the layer of frost covering the frozen dirt he was strewn out on, Luke peeled his face away from the ice and rolled himself off it onto exposed earth. With a small grunt, he pulled himself into a cross-legged, seated position and found himself looking up at Rain with the sun forming a blinding halo behind her.
"I'm fine. Lost a little focus there, but no harm done."
Raising a hand to reduce the brilliance surrounding Kihel, he beamed up at her in a hopefully reassuring and not manic way before glancing around to confirm his suspicions. "Color me impressed. You cleared them out again and I'm over here sleeping on the job."
Turning his gaze downward at himself, Luke found his overcoat in shambles and worse, his hat was gone. Shrugging off the scraps of cloth revealed his waistcoat had suffered as well, with the buttons gone and what remained of it flapped loosely against his torso. On closer inspection, his bared skin was mostly its usual bronze but white scales had spread in a patch where the SandShark struck him. "Huh, that's new."
"Anyway, Alfie and Eto are alright too. Who am I having the pleasure of checking up on me, then? You don't sound like Kihel," Luke accused, looking up again at the Wave Warrior, with either half of his partnered FMian poking their head out or flicking their tail in acknowledgement.
The robotic angels head slowly turned from side to side, observing the remains of the defeated viruses, almost like a security camera. Satisfied, Secrecy lowered the conversions arms to its sides, an audible sigh coming from the conversion that was clearly Kihel. Despite holding the two heavy weapons, there was no sign of the minor shake or strain a normal person would have, giving Luke a subtle foreshadowing that the being currently in control was not human. The conversion looked down at Luke, the emerald green lights that were its eyes piercing through the shadows covering its face.
"I am Secrecy, Kihel's partner." With no facial expressions to go with the emotionless voice, Luke would have a hard time getting a read on the wizard. "Since you are ok, my obligations here are done." For Kihel, her HUD flashed green, indicating control was returned to her. From Luke's perspective, the eyes would flash before a brief moment, before suddenly the rest of its body would relax, as if every joint had loosened a bit.
"Oh thank goodness, I can barely stand going through that." A familar voice said, rolling her shoulders in an attempt to stretch. "It has its uses, but it leaves me stiff as a board." The gatling gun on her right arm vanished in a flash of light, the freshly reverted arm being given a shake. "Long story short since you're probably very confused right now. With how our conversion is, she's able to take full control if needed. That final barrage was all her, I had no part in it."

The Wave Warriors would have their moment of rest spoiled once again by the arrival of new enemies. The first new threat would come from behind Luke, and it was a creature that approached from quite a distance away before coming to a halt two meters from the duo. The virus in question was a large floating red head, with two spikes coming out from either side that curved inward, as well as a protrusion shaped like a small lightning bolt jutting out from its top. Though it lacked any lower body, it did still have a pair of stingers, attached to a small sphere near either spike, that curved like small arms and had electric currents running along them, with red plating on their middle section.
The second new arrival, as it turned out, had been on the scene for quite a long time; about two meters behind Kihel was what looked to be a small watermelon that had somehow gone undisturbed throughout the battles. But soon after the Zap King arrived, the watermelon sprouted out a stem from below it, which elongated to a height of a meter, and the fruit split open, revealing a round yellow face with blank, angry eyes. The two halves of the watermelon remained attached to either side of the face, and a small root appeared on top of the virus.
The final arrivals could not properly be called new; sprinkles of EM Waves fell from the sky, this time without any apparent source, and seemed to gather to the Wave Warriors' side, about four meter away from them. The particles came together and formed two separate strands, one which remained low on the ground, while the other stretched up high. When the recombination process was complete, the creatures that appeared were a familiar hot orange fin which swam on the trash as if it was a literal lake, and an equally familiar sunflower with a pink face and yellow petals as well as a very tall stem. The SandShark and Happy Flower were back for revenge, and this time, it was personal.
At least, more so for the Happy Flower, which continued to be peeved in spite of its name; the shark just swam around its fellow companion, its intentions unclear. The sunflower wasn't going to bother wasting any time dawdling, though, and basked in the rays of the sun, its petals glowing as it turned towards the mechanical Wave Warrior, then released an intense beam of light upon her position. The conductor sitting on the ground wouldn't be spared either; after another moment where its petals glowed, the virus unleashed a second beam, this time upon the conductor.
The Tropi Coppa swayed from side to side on its stem, waiting for the right moment to strike. After the sunflower had released its second beam, the odd green plant threw its head back for a moment before it thrust it in Kihel's direction and started spitting a bunch of seeds from its mouth at rapid-fire speed towards her. The ten mini projectiles weren't all too accurate, but their sheer number should be enough to at least annoy their target a little.
While the plant fired its seeds at one enemy, the Zap King focused on the other one, and it broughts its sparking stingers together to produce a sphere of electricity that was a meter in diameter and floated just above the trash-filled ground, traveling at a moderately fast pace towards Luke. Happy Flower Health: 15% Element: Light Panel: Null Actions: 1. Sun Shot - Moderate Light damage at Kihel. Blinds 2. Sun Shot - Moderate Light damage at Luke. Blinds
}Sun Shot- The flower creates a beam .5m in diameter from it's head, inflicting Blind on hit. Stiff Stem - Only the head of the flower may be damaged, not the stalk.
}Thunder Ball – The virus brings the electric conductors on its arms together, creating a sphere of electricity that is a meter in diameter that homes in on an opponent’s location, even capable of changing direction. The sphere remains on the field for 3 turns unless it comes into contact with an opponent or object. The higher the version of the virus, the faster the ball moves. The ball causes paralysis upon contact.
}Vulcan Seed - The virus will rear its head back before rapidly firing multiple seeds towards an opponent from its mouth. Due to the rapid firing, and the origin of the seeds, this attack is very inaccurate.
}"Underwater"- The virus cannot be damaged unless attacking. It can swim around in land as though it were in the water. Only its fin is visible when it isn't attacking.
"Huh. Well anyway, looks like you both need to move!"
Luke threw himself sidelong about waist-high at Rain, attempting to tackle her with his arm outstretched to give her a sudden sideways start out of the incoming fire. An intense heat pressed into his left shoulder blade and his head swam as dazzling light overtook his vision. Luke was unsure if that was the Sun Shot meant for Kihel or himself but only one would end up striking him as he attempted to carry them out of the crossfire. The Tropi Coppa's erratic attack managed to graze his leg with one seed and clip him with another, but it was a comparatively small price to pay to regain their position after being surrounded.
Landing heavily and throwing up a cloud of dust, Luke gave up attention to his partner to assess his surroundings. Furthest across from him were the two familiar viruses they had just cleared out, and to his right was the Tropi Coppa bobbing angrily on its vine after firings its salvo. To the left, apparently behind him just a moment ago was- "Eargh!"
The Zap King's Thunder Ball connected with Luke, coursing electricity through him and painfully contracting his muscles to wrest away control of his body. Fortunately already on the ground, Luke had only a short distance to fall as he was rendered prone once more and left at the mercy of those glaring down at him.
Luke's warning would come too late unfortunately, as a beam roared straight into her side, knocking her off balnce and down to one knee as she was caught off gaurd. 'No no no!', she thought in panic, having not caught a glimpse of any enemy before being blinded. Her concerns were quickly cut short, it ended almost as soon as it began, with a barrage of 5 seeds belting her in the b, the damage restarting her HUD.
She regained her vision in time to witness Luke become paralyzed. "This is not a good start!" Observing the surrounding enemies as she stood back up, Kihel couldn't help but note the advantages they had. 'Numbers, variety in ranged options, status ailments, and that damn shark to pressure us out of any cover we create.' With no perceivable advantages compared to their previous encounters, this was going to be an uphill battle.
Noting her full custom, she looked over her remaining cards quickly, deciding on what needed to go asap. A glowing ball formed in her right hand, before turning into a bomb. With a throw that would make a quarterback jealous, she aimed for the hopefully immobile Tropi Cogga, a nice clean arc as it sailed through the air. Hoping the incoming bomb would keep it distracted momentarily, she reached back, grabbing the second rifle hanging on her back.
With a mighty metallic clang the two guns slammed together, a loud humming heard as they charged up. The jets on her wings roared in response, intent on holding her in place from the built up force and upcoming recoil. Pulling the two triggers simultaneously, a powerful combined beam raced across the battlefield towards the tropical plant, intending on ending it quickly. 'The spread it has cannot stay, it'll chew through any protection we can make.'
OOC: I think Torch took 4% more damage than needed, as even damage boosts from Elemental Weakness only apply to the first hit of an attack. The projectile sailing towards it alerted the Tropi Coppa, who tried to stretch itself out to the side as far as its root could allow it in a desperate attempt to avoid the incoming threat. It was of no use, though, as the bomb struck it on the base of its stem and detonated, not only harming the virus but also obscuring it in smoke for a brief moment. When the smoke cleared, the plant was taken aback upon noticing the combined guns that were pointing its way and being charged up. Before the virus could think of any way to react, the charged beam was fired, hitting the plant square on its face. When the beam faded, the creature seemed to be stable for a moment, but on the next, its face fell apart into tiny pieces that dropped onto the trash below, and its stem simply deteriorated away.
The Happy Flower was pleased at the success of its assault, but seeing its fellow plant brethren being deleted gave it reason to believe that it was going to be the next target, and that thought caused it to puff its cheeks in anger. Turning its gaze to the mechanical slayer again, the sunflower's petals shone with the light of the sun once more, and once more the virus released its bright beam of light towards Kihel. It then turned to the downed conductor, and after another glow of its petals, it released another beam upon his position.
After that second beam was fired, the swimming shark decided to strike. After completing a circle around the sunflower's stem, the SandShark's body emerged from the trash lake and it swam into a forward charge, its teeth shining bright as it headed towards the conductor.
The Zap King floated diagonally to the side so that it would get a bit closer to the gunsliger of the duo, though it still kept a distance of two meters between them as it stopped moving. The virus then slammed its sparking conductors together and generated another ball of electricity, this one heading towards Kihel. Happy Flower Health: 15% Element: Light Panel: Null Actions: 1. Sun Shot - Moderate Light damage at Kihel. 2. Sun Shot - Moderate Light damage at Luke.

Running low on patience, Luke stretched his fingers to test them before heaving himself backwards off of his stomach, being narrowly missed by the shot from the Happy Flower gunning for him again. The pulse of heat and light sunk into the dirt between his feet and Luke stared down the sun-shaded shark standing by, daring it to follow-up as it always did. The virus failed to disappoint and came careening in at him but Luke was somewhat more prepared for it.
Luke took the brunt of the impact with his arms, grunting with the exertion and again when he shoved back against the SandShark to get it off of himself. While he was still sat upon the ground, Luke's partners came around to his front and surged from his chest, white and black halves entangled into a single trunk, a seething, coiling mass seemingly endless in its hunger and voracious in its reaching for prey. Luke was quick on the uptake, his face pulling into a grin much more predatory than his usual. "Looks like this is the last call! ALL ABOARD!"
Thrusting his arms into the base of the mass thrashing out of him, Luke swung Alfie and Eto's intertwined bodies and watched as the movement rippled through them, sweeping their writhing, snapping form across the battlefield. Alfie's head seemed to appear from everywhere and nowhere, biting at each available virus while Eto's coils lashed about them to constrict and drag them in towards Luke's awaiting maw. Freeing his hands from the two of them as they began to unravel and calling forth both heavy cannon and light buster on his arms, Luke unleashed a haphazard salvo into the center of where his victims would congregate following his Big Bang Attack.
OOC: Yeah I took too much. Should be at 84%. Also realizing I'm too sloppy and reliant on my character page
Watching the virus be ripped apart by her success, a single confident thought cross Kihel's mind.
'Offense is the best defense!'
The two guns clicked apart, the right one falling to the ground, as a bright light caught the corner of her eye. The beam of light came roaring at her, ready to blind her for the third time. However, it would not find its mark, as Kihel immediately reappeared in front of the perpetually angry flower, a long sword now on her right arm that was raised over her left shoulder. She swung at its head, a diagonal slash to her right side, sparks trailing as sword met ground.
Before she could follow up though, the ball of lightning caught her from behind, static electricity coursing through her body. The weight of her wings taking hold, she fell backwards, crashing to the ground with a metallic clang. Above her, she could see the attack Luke had unleashed, but she could not tell of its success. Regardless, she was more preoccupied with the thought that she was vulnerable to a counterattack from any survivors, whether it was the flower, the shark, or the king.
OOC: So I realize I should have been clearer on this matter, but since you both had been inflicted with a debilitating Status Effect on the previous turn, you'd still be unable to be inflicted with a new one this turn, which is why I didn't list them in my summary. I believe Locomotive forgot to take the Self-Inflicted Moderate from the BBW, and I'm not sure if Torch was intentionally going for a failed attack, but regardless, I'll go ahead and post now, considering what's about to happen. The SandShark offered no resistance as it was shoved by the conductor, and simply continued swimming away from it. Though it still wanted a taste of more, the virus remembered how its hunger led it to its demise previously and wasn't about to make the same mistake twice, so it dove back under the garbage lake while it waited for its next opportunity to strike. The writhing mass of snakes that sailed towards it found nothing but its fin, as did the blasts of magma and foam, and all three failed to do any harm.
Kihel's 1.80-meter height and her blade's 2-meter length gave her slash an extensive range, but despite her valiant effort, the attack couldn't fully overcome the sunflower's 4-meter-tall stem, so instead of striking the virus' face, the sword merely struck harmlessly against the stalk. The Happy Flower let out a haughty high-pitched laugh, but its joy would be brought down swiftly by Luke, whose 6-meter-long snake mass was enough not only to clear the distance between him and the flower but also to reach up to its head. The virus never even saw the assault coming, and its head was severed from its stem by the poisonous bite, both parts of the creature rapidly deteriorating soon after.
The Zap King had some time to see the impending threat, and decided to respond to it in the only way it could think of - by turning tail to save its hide. It attempted to flee as fast as it could, but the combined snakes were faster, and not only did the first one tore away a huge chunk of it, but the second then dragged it closer to the conductor and put it in range of the consecutive shots that followed, which blasted apart what little remained of the virus.
After that sweeping assault, the sole survivor of the pack realized that it wouldn't be able to avoid its eventual demise, and rather than wait any longer, it decided to try and sate its hunger before the two Wave Warriors would have a chance to be better prepared. So after waiting for about ten seconds after the shots of fire and aqua were released, the exposed fin turned around and swam in the direction of its prey. It wouldn't be Luke again, though, and in fact the virus give him a wide berth of about two meters. Once it had passed by the conductor, the shark brought its body up to the surface and charged ahead, its teeth shining as it headed towards Kihel for a head-on collision with her. Worn down as he was with his injuries catching up to him, the rush of adrenaline and the roaring in Luke's blood staved off his fatigue enough to keep him going, though he could feel both halves of Serpentis would be out of commission for a while longer. Looking over his shoulder, he found the SandShark was behind him and heading back in his direction but its course was clearly offset and likely aiming for Kihel instead. Scrambling to his feet, Luke raised his Fire Bazooka perpendicular to but away from the path of the virus and coincidentally at the heap of scrap they had so valiantly defended just minutes before. With a click, a hiss, and a BOOM the weapon was fired one last time without any care of its target.
Luke instead took its impressive recoil jerking his arm in the opposite direction to give him a slight push towards the SandShark as it passed by, twisted his body to turn his course and regain his footing, and began running just behind the virus with all the vigor he could still muster after everything. His torso was riddled with white scales over every inch his muscles had been screaming under and at some point his hair, slicked with sweat and falling into his eyes, had run a gleaming black but none of that registered while his desperation to devour the virus remained. His arms and legged pumped harder than he could ever remember, all to make up for the tiny distance left in his mad sprint and the instant Luke's instincts sensed he was in striking distance he gave a powerful leap in an attempt to grapple the SandShark while some suppressed part of him hoped he wouldn't land on Kihel.

The static wore off faster than Kihel expected, slowly climbing back to her feet. Wobbling a bit as she finally stood, she turned to the sound of water splashing. It was the SandShark charging in, intent on taking a bite out of her. Noting the lack of enemies anywhere, along with not enough time to move, she did the only thing she could do.
She went for a stab at the center of its head with the sword she had.
What happened next to the shark wasn't clear to her, but what Kihel did feel it ram into the underside of her arm and then her chest head on, causing her to be thrown to the side in a confusing, clanging ball of wings and weaponry. Picking herself up, gash of wires now visible on her chest, she did what felt natural at this point in the fight. The machine guns on her shoulders popped up, opening fire on the shark, corpse or otherwise. Normally she would have followed up with the rifle, but after the collision and tumble, her arm was too sore to raise it for the time being.
The stab from the sword only grazed the SandShark as it continued on to ram into its target, but the damage was clearly done, as the attack created a gash on its side, where fragments of EM Waves began to leak out slowly. After plowing through the mechanical enemy, the conductor grappled it from the behind and prevented it from moving any further, while also increasing the rate at which its body was deteriotating with the strength of his grasp. The hail of bullets that followed put the creature out of its misery at last, tearing through what remained of its form and causing it to burst apart entirely.
Once again, the duo of Wave Warriors was successful in eliminating the viruses the threatened them. And once again, they would have a moment to rest up and tend to their increasing number of injuries. Staying any longer in the junkyard was likely to put their safety at stake, though if they were lucky the place's dwellers may give up on trying to harm them any further. Was that a gamble they were willing to take?
