With Kihel's final shots, the sounds of frantic fighting died down and made way for the rhythmic crashing of waves against the island's artificial coast. The battle was over, won without any more viruses bold enough to descend upon the weary warriors. Face-down upon the ground for something like the fourth time in as many minutes, Luke moaned into the dirt, finally letting the day's exertions tuck into his tuckered out body. Turning his head, he found himself laying at the girl's feet again while looking and feeling more worked over than he was just a moment before. Luke rolled over away from her to face his front to the open sky and closed his eyes for a spell.
"Looks like they're all dealt with. You seem to know your stuff, but even with those wings some things are still out of reach, eh?"
Luke chuckled at his jab, then sighed as he cracked his eyes open for another dose of the vastness of blue above him. He brought a finger to his most recently inflicted wound, likely from Rain's weapons, and felt the scales that had formed there. Lightly scratching at it revealed it to be synonymous with his skin in his current form so out of curiosity Serpens Crash became his constituent parts once more. Luke felt the abilities granted to him by Alfie and Eto leave his body just as the two of them also slithered from him with their ends joined again to each other. The overlarge FMian twisted in the space above him until Alfie's head could scan Luke with its reptilian glare.
Though his ruined clothes had been replaced with their real cloth counterparts, Luke's tanned skin and light hair showed no signs of lingering influence which Alfie communicated with a simple bob. Satisfied, Luke relaxed with an arm behind his head while the other stretched skyward to trace a finger along the path he'd meant to keep before his minor stumble. "I don't mean to pry, but after fighting alongside you I'd like to know a little more to better appreciate the people getting dragged into my mess."
"What brings two halves who don't quite trust each other to a place like this?" Luke inquired, his tone kept light and certainly more curious than accusatory.
With the battle over, and certain that no more were coming, Kihel initiated the end of the conversion. Her wings wrapped around the conversion before a pillar of light emerged from within. When the pillar vanished, revealing Kihel in her work clothes, the wings disappeared in a flurry of feathers. Tired and sore from their battle, she fell back on her rear, eyes on her right arm for the moment.
With her left hand, she was grabbing the arm in various spots, a moment of pain visible on her face visible each time. While nothing was broken, it was almost certainly bruised underneath the shirt she had on. Satisfied with her findings, arms now behind her to keep Kihel upright, her eyes turned upwards to see the giant wizard in the sky. "O-oh," she muttered to herself, thinking back to her first meeting with Talia. "What is with me running into people with giant wizards through no fault of my own?"
Luke's inquiry brought her eyes back down to Earth, although with her sunglasses on that wouldn't be noticed by Luke. "We came here for some training." She lifted a hand and pointed at a mountain of junk in the distance. "It was supposed to be focused around combat on the larger piles that aren't so easily destroyed, but well, your arrival changed that." The mention of this triggered a reminder in her mind, her finger moving from pile towards the wave roads in the sky. "Speaking of, um, how exactly did you end up nearly falling on me to begin with?" If he was going to ask questions, it was only fair for her to be able to ask some in return.

"Wizard? We are FM-ian."
Coiled loosely in the air, Alfie flicked his tongue at Kihel before the whole of Serpentis undulated away to inspect the mess they had made of the scrapyard. Luke watched them go then closed his eyes again, wondering what exchange he'd just missed. Pulling his glasses from a front pocket, Luke slipped them on to Visualize the Wave World all around him and pointed again at the Wave Road that'd be basically impossible to make out from where they sat. "I was taking the Sky Wave back to the mainland after a delivery and got distracted while running through some cloud cover. Missed my step and took a tumble. At least I stuck the landing this time. I'm a strong swimmer but everyone has their limits."
Luke stretched his limbs and rocked himself up into a seated position. "I'd only started taking these odd jobs recently but I never expected the wanderlust to be so strong after being away from the cities for a while. I guess you could say Dream Island's pull was too much for me, haha."
"Let me apologize properly for getting in your way then. Even now I'll probably stick around and clean up. Someone's gotta be maintaining these parks and it's no good for me to leave the island's uglier half in a worse state than usual."

An audible yelp was heard from Kihel as the giant wizard responded, having not realized it could hear that well. Her heart skipped a beat as Luke spoke up, potentially about her earlier remark. However, as he soon went into his trip, she breathed a sigh of relief. As he righted himself, and she titled her head to keep her eyes on him, Kihel began to realize that Luke was a pretty tall guy, and almost certainly taller than her. 'Just how tall is he?'
Her thoughts on his height were interrupted by an apology by him. "Oh don't worry about it." she said, waving a hand dismissively, "Yeah today's a write off, but it's not like those were the only viruses out there you know? Besides, it was nice having someone else around for the fight. Not often a tag team happens for me"
As she looked at Luke, and thought about his tale, the phrase 'delivery' clicked, and Kihel realized that Luke may have something that could help her. "Hey Luke, you said you do deliveries. Have you ever been around the Frozen Mountain by Grizzly Resort by chance?"

A thoughtful finger tapped Luke's chin as he jogged his memory. "Can't say that I have, but now that you mention it, I turned down a job up north recently. The client would've set me up at Grizzly Resort but I wasn't keen on being away from home for so long."
Luke made to get up on his feet but a sudden ache in his side changed his mind. Instead he reached into a pocket for his Star Carrier and pinged his partner, content with relaxing until Alfie finished his survey. "You have some kind of business at the Peak? It's pretty dangerous up there outside the reach of the resort, but you probably knew that."
