Having been tasked by GSP to assist in cleaning up the influx of EM Virus activity, Cherish Pele found it a good excuse to come visiting the Grizzly Resort on the organization's dime. Before she'd go enjoying any activities though, she'd enter her wave form and get straight to work on hunting down any errant Viruses, doing her part to make certain that any part of Netopia was well-protected from excessive Noise if she had anything to say about it.
Accompanying Cherish to the Grizzly Peaks resort was her commanding officer, although he wouldn't force her to use a term so formal with him. Mehk was at least a year younger than her, and was rewarded his rank for honorable service and efficiency way earlier than the norm. With how she operated, Mehk had no disillusions about the fact that she would very likely rise through the ranks very quickly, herself.
Moving off the of the Wave Liner, Mehk started down the paved pathways in a fairly simple wheel-chair, not nearly as fancy as the one he used while on official business. Before even bothering checking into the hotel, though, he watched Cherish initiate wave change and begin looking around. He sighed, as he'd hoped he could've at least gotten the opportunity to enjoy the waterfall inside before getting to anything serious, but guessed that one couldn't quite complain about a woman with a mind to do their job.
"Well, alright, then," he shrugged, tapping a screen on his Hunter V-G, the matter-wave wheelchair warping into the one with the satella colors. With one more click, he initiated wave change, a process that Dynamo was simply incapable of doing quietly. The hedonistic Wizard appeared in a plume of orange energy, erupting all around Mehk, and the two launched to join Feint as their converged form; Dynamo King, now much taller than the wheel-chair bound Mehk was a moment before.
"Alright," Dynamo King will mutter, looking around the Wave World. "Two sufficiently high-standing Wave Warriors appear; we're producing enough Noise on our own that a virus or two should pop up. Let's see what happens."
The Frozen North supports the following Panel Types, and enforces the following special rules:
- Snow - Ice - Hole -- Any attempt to make Water Panels instead creates Ice Panels. -- Whenever Panels would revert to Null Panels, they instead revert to Snow.
Dynamo King will begin the battle on Ice Panels. Viruses spawn on Snow Panels within Range of all combatants, unless a more advantageous panel is present.
Virus Thread - Wave 1, Lv1 :: Spawns 1 v1 Virus ° Cherish has Priority. Dynamo and Cherish move first. ° Each virus wave spawns 1 additional virus of the highest version that wave would create. ° Each virus wave spawns 1 additional virus of the highest version that wave would create per two Wave Warriors present.

Intense pockets of EM energy always seem to attract viruses, and, for whatever reason, more and more EM interference has been in the air. As the two wave warriors come to see what kind of problems are within some of the world's most desolate regions, even this far away from the technology of the Grizzly Peaks Resort, viruses seem to thrive amidst the ever-expanding Wave World.
Coming into view, the dense pockets forms into the separate viruses, as a Grabbity, a Boo Hat, and a Mu Defender made their way down from the Wave Road below, descending onto the snow fields, each a safe distance away from the two Wave Warriors. Above, shadows can be seen looking down, other Viruses taking their own time to size up the competition.
The first to move, the Grabbity extended its long hands and simply spun around, targeting Dynamo King with a whirlwind of force, sucking in nearby dust, dirt, and snow, alongside grabbing a hold of the big Wave Warrior and dragging him along.
Spinning about, the Mu Defender finally paused in its rotation, and its runes lit up on its face. Staring Cherish down, it unleashed a series of beams towards her, each of the glowing symbols rotating at a different angle as it spun.
Finally, coming into view only momentarily, the Boo Hat picked up its hat and tossed it at the group, both of them needing to contend with the fast-moving projectile.

Cherish grinned and pressed the visors to her face as the viruses appeared, as if to fasten them. Her Wave Conversion was strong enough to shrug off the attacks sent at her, then she'd immediately summon Remnant before making her retaliation.
" Try not to look too reckless in front of the commanding officer, Cherish. "
Their telepathic link allowed them to have private conversations like these even in the midst of others, though it was admittedly very odd at times to always have her brother's voice in her head in certain, more private situations.
" Big brother's always watching. My job is to stress-test this suit in dense Noise environments; it wouldn't serve much good if I just held back all the time. "
Not a word was spoken outloud by the two of them, but Mehk could probably piece together their mental conversation just by reading the facial expressions and body language between them. Without much more concern given to Remnant's words, Cherish held out both hands as if requesting his sword in exchange for her gun. Reluctantly, he accepted, and not a moment later did she vanish from sight only to reappear next to the arriving viruses in an instant.
Bladework wasn't her forte, but empowered by a Battle Card, the sword certainly held its weight in terms of performance and only produced a minor amounts of Noise with every swing but threatened to produce a staggering amount should any of the swings connect -- the wicked smile from her showed that she paid no heed to David's advice. Having already expected and accepted this outcome, David loaded his own Battle Cards into the gun and fired at the viruses that she haphazardly lashed out at, intending to finish them off after her rather graceless assault.
They only focus on the Grabbity and the BooHat, though, leaving the Mu Defender either for later or for Dynamo King to handle himself. And at the end of their display, Cherish would turn back to her officer, making it quite clear that her primary concern was to be noticed for her prowess despite these just being low level enemies.

Dynamo King watched as the viruses came in, his visor scanning over them and cross-referencing them with the Satella Police's databases. They were a pretty tenacious lot; any normal virus buster would be troubled getting past the Mu Defender and the Grabbity, for sure.
Heh! Nothing we can't handle, kid. Let's get these clowns!
After all this time, you're insistent on calling me a kid?
Yeh, pretty much! Now, let's go!
A smile spread across the behemoth's face, hunkering down and moving forward. Before they could even get close to the viruses, however, Cherish had already launched herself into the fray. Bringing another warrior alongside her, the two of them became a flurry of sword strikes and cannon fire, nearly instantly deleting two viruses without worry.
Hey, she's got the right idea! I like this 'un! Can we get like four o' 'er?
Mehk couldn't help but be impressed; she ascertained the viruses with incredible skill, to be sure, and knew how to attack them in such a way to accommodate for their natural instincts, and then how to best put them down while producing the least amount of Noise. The only thing that he wasn't impressed by, however, was her immediate request of a progress report. That told him a lot about her, in a very small span of time - she was seeking approval, validation, even, an uncertainty of character from within that required an outward opinion to cover up. In short, it wasn't a great trait to have.
He decided to push that thought to the back of his mind, not responding to her question immediately. He approached the spinning Mu Defender while his natural defenses warded off the attacks, raising his gigantean arm to begin battering at the virus. Once he was done, he retreated back, raised his arm, and launched it, causing an explosion that left the viruses as a simple collection of dust.
"Performance gradings for virus busting are automatically generated by your Hunter V-G at the end of every bust. It's the GSP's way of monitoring exceptionally talented Wave Warriors and Virus Busters, analyzing skill and capability mid-battle and generating a report after each one.. Those results should speak for themselves."

It truly was a show of no-contest. With the carefully executed attacks from skilled Wave Warriors, the viruses were quickly deleted and dealt with. The Grabbity was expertly slain, the Boo Hat was destroyed right as it returned from its venture into the unknown, and the Mu Defender was destroyed outright by raw force.
If this would set the scene for what was to come, then, surely, the viruses may need to be a bit craftier moving forward . . .

As the first wave of viruses dispersed, a new wave of viruses descended. Two more Grabbitys, these ones with bright green highlights rather than bright blue, descended from the Wave Roads above, and a Boom with green flames jumped down into the snow, creating an area of burning flames all around it.
The last to come jumping down was a monster of a virus, gigantic in comparison; the Raidz family of viruses was already quite large, and so to have an even larger version of it come crashing down, well, it would've caught anyone off guard. The massive virus seemed intent on testing the mettle of the Wave Warriors gathered.
The Boom was the first on the move, approaching Cherish, first, with a flaming fist, and then quickly bouncing over to Dynamo King to do the same. From there, both Grabbity's took their pick of Cherish, once again picking up nearby debris out of the snow storm, clearing away patches of snow-fills, and trying to take Cherish with it.
Finally, the Buki moved - such a thing had no business moving as fast as it did, either, and it produced its hammer from overhead to bring it crashing down onto Cherish.

Cherish's battle report appeared on her visors as the viruses were disposed of -- her plain expression indicating dissatisfaction with the results.
" Upset over an A-Minus? "
" Top-dogs don't get A-Minuses. Let's see what it thinks if I go all out. "
Before David had the time to deter that rash approach, the next wave was upon them and this group seemed particularly fond of Cherish. She was able to phase through the punch of the Boom and expected to be able to do the same for the next wave of Grabbities, but she was sadly mistaken on that matter.
" ?! "
Their combined gravitational pull was quite inconvenient, but she'd quickly slot in recovery cards to mitigate the damage from those as she pressed on. Last up was the Raidz that approached her in admittedly much greater speed than she expected -- not before Remnant's voice in her head intervened, of course.
" You're standing in Lava. Aren't you going to move? "
" ... It's warm. "
" And the ham-- "
*BAM!*
He didn't get to finish that warning before the colossal mallet came crashing down onto his sister. She raised her arms to catch it, thinking she could handle the weight, and she certainly could, but it overwhelmed her initial expectations and left her body a bit more worse for wear than she'd planned for.
" ...--mer? "
Cherish gave no response other than non-verbally asking for her gun back -- a vibe that David had picked up on during her earlier remarks. She'd respond to Mehk before striking back, giving them all a moment to collect themselves before the impending havoc. His earlier observation of her minimal Noise production was going to be entirely subverted if everything went her way here, and the air about her was basically exclaiming the fact at this point.
" So what is this metric based on, if I may ask? Because I can certainly overkill if that's what it's looking for... "
And that was the final warning before she'd cut loose, throwing Remnant's sword at the first Grabbity as he handed her gun back to her, the blade exploding in a mixture of energy upon contact. Remnant dropped a ball of white energy at her feet, intending to fix her lava situation, before darting toward that same virus to pick up his sword and finish it off. An unnoticed factor until now: the damage from the previous attacks seemed to be absorbed into her suit like an electric current that constantly circulated throughout it. That current was flowing into her weapon now -- the heralding of unrestrained reprisal as she looked at the Boom and Raids that were both within close proximity of her now and taunted them as if they could comprehend her provocation.
" Say goodnight. "
*BOOM!BOOM!BOOM!*
The area shook at each discharge from the weapon: the rounds exploding instantly as they left the barrel, engulfing the enemies, herself, and anything else in that close of a proximity to her, intending to shred them apart with no caution given to the amount of Noise produced. And when the dust settled, an electrical current still coursed her suit, but this time looking more erratic and out of her control, as if it were a negative byproduct of her careless outburst, restricting her movements until it gradually settled down. There'd be one virus left to deal with once again, but it'd be a moment before she'd be able to strike again like that.

The new band of viruses appeared with a gigantic threat among them, the already slightly oversized Raidz virus coming down as a monstrosity in comparison to its peers. Instantly, he felt the energy that Dynamo was giving off change, as the opportunity to fight roared in his ears, Dynamo getting heated up at the idea of brawling with such a brute. They moved forward, most of them paying attention to Cherish, and, for what it was worth, she took the brunt of the force head-on without much concern.
A Boom got close to Dynamo King, and he allowed the fist to simply punch through his barrier. The burning fists didn't manage to leave behind a fiery pit underneath him, thankfully, although it didn't much matter. He was interested in the Raidz -
- and in a wave of devastation, destruction, and massive explosive responses, all of the viruses had been completely deleted, save for one. What was left after Cherish unleashed was just a little Grabbity, and the battle tempo that Dynamo had built up in Mehk's ears roared and attempted to slam on the brakes. All that accomplished was an unruly and quite unsophisticated snort coming up from out of his nostrils, accompanied by a small pillar of light.
To put simply, Dynamo had been looking forward to it, and that frustration came out of their joint wave form. He shook his head, clearing it up, and turned to look at Cherish, the air now thick with noise. The Wave World around them distorted heavily, static forming in the air, dense pockets of it collecting together into little black-green clouds that warped the wave roads. Already, he could feel the static pulling at his own waves, and it caused a pit to form in his stomach.
. . . Y'know, I still like 'er. She's got the right idea! Maybe we only need the one of 'er, though. All this noise is starting to make my head whirl!
Keeping his distance from the Grabbity, Dynamo King prepared his assault, holding up his oversized limb and building light inside of it. All at once, he unleashed his own barrage onto the Grabbity, releasing a ray of light that burnt it out until there was nothing left.
"It measures efficiency - minimalistic resource use, deletion of the most viruses using the least amount of time, energy, resources, and taking the least amount of damage in the process. It also grades if you can combo moves together effectively well. The more efficient the virus busting, the less time viruses have to gather, and the less likely it is for a dangerous amount of noise to proliferate in the process.
"That's the idea, anyways . . ." he trails off, watching as more noise forms in the space. "Sometimes efficiency means risking the production of noise to quickly eliminate a threat."
As far as efficiency goes, Dynamo King was also in the business of getting stuff done. Disappearing, a pillar of light came crashing down in front of the black hole. He raised his oversized limb and brought it down onto the Grabbity, and, just for good measure, raised it up, and brought it down again. With each strike, a wave of energy rolled away from his arm, the combined effort of the strike and the energy tearing the Grabbity apart.

With the over-and-above use of force, these viruses were also quickly dealt with; the higher caliber foes were absolutely annihilated by the force displayed from Cherish, and Dynamo King's response for the Grabbity was just as effective. The air was left dense with noise, however, which did not bode well for the foes that they would have to face, next.

There was something about this place that seemed to attract these things. The high-density noise brought the attention of an unfortunate lot, as from the pockets of noise a series of singularity viruses arrived. The yellow-trimmed Grabbitys grasped with their reaching hands forward, knowing only one thing - hunger. Spiralling with gluttonous intent, they created a suction of force so extreme it ripped up the snow, tore at the nearby rocks, and threatened to rip the two Wave Warriors apart.

Dynamo King looked forward as more viruses appeared from the roiling cloud of Noise that had formed from Cherish's outburst. As the first arrived, he wasn't all that worried; as more and more appeared, though . . .
"Seriously?"
"Aw, com'on! Five of these things?!"
He held up one hand to shield himself, and planted his large arm into the ground underneath him, stabilizing himself as the Grabbiyts tried to drag him and Cherish away. Winds roared by his ears, which carried snow, dirt, waves, and rocks their direction, all of those things disappearing into the void of the virus in front of them. If they didn't act quickly, these things would quickly destroy the surrounding area, to say nothing of each of them.
A stream of bright energy rose around Dynamo King as he stepped forward, ambling himself closer to one of the Grabbitys. Light streamed around him as he blinked forward, his body already poised with one hand raised, energy coiled around it. He raised his hand, encased in a gauntlet, and swung, one swing consuming the light energy that he had prepared in a glowing hot fist that impacted with one virus and immediately resonated through the others ones. As that swing left each of the viruses spiralling, he aimed the gauntlet down and released the oversized arm at point-blank range, engulfing himself and all of the viruses in a wave of light that left them as naught but a cloud of noise.

Dynamo King's threat assessment yielded the preferred results, as with a simple one-two swing, all five of the dangerous viruses were eliminated all at once. A little noise was produced from the overall effort, but that is a small price to pay for the efficiency of threat removal.

The high-density noise created by Dynamo King's solution was something of an immediate problem. Coalescing into a dense pocket, it formed and condensed into a small cloud that opened up a Noise Wave. From inside, a stream of viruses came forward of darker design and features, their EM Wave Signatures far more erratic and powerful than any of the viruses that had come before them. Behind, something else seemed to slink inside of the Noise Wave, just waiting for enough noise to be produced to come out.
The first on the scene, a Mu Defender with golden glyphs unleashed a series of beams, alternating between Dynamo King and Feint, spinning around and carefully maneuvering itself as it did so. The danger of the high-density Noise made these attacks more difficult to evade, and the Defender more difficult to approach, to say nothing of the holes that it would rip into the battlefield.
The two Booms, burning with purple flames, split up the combatants, each one bounding with incredible speed towards one of the two, and each one unleashing a series of powerful uppercuts, bouncing around to deal with them.
The dark reapers also split up the combatants, tossing their scythes forward, unleashing a spiraling storm around both Dynamo King and Cherish as the scythes spun around them. The last on the scene was the Murian, whose wave body shifted to a blue color, as it raised its sword, first. Teleporting up, it slashed at Dynamo King, and then aimed a laser at Cherish. It teleported close up to Cherish and slashed at her, then aimed another laser at Dynamo King, and teleported back to slash at him.

Dynamo's displeasure over stealing his prey escaped her entirely -- her mind instead caught up on his response to her query.
" Efficiency? I can do that. "
Her arrogant grin was visible even through the dense noise, which was another attribute that escaped her awareness until her suit began coursing with what appeared to be electricity again; this time more red in color.
" A side effect of the Noise. The suit should be able to handle more, but it's already starting to become visible. "
David explaining that to her was probably unnecessary, but before long, the suit began to employ its countermeasures and absorbed the anomaly as best it could, allowing her to resonate with it temporarily. All the while, Dynamo King wasted no time in giving her a lesson on what an S-Rank Buster was capable of -- the attack from the newly spawned and now newly deleted Grabbity's hardly lasting long enough for her to have even realized their presence.
" That's impressive. You should take notes, Cherish -- your repertoire could benefit from having more variety. "
" I can only shoot a gun in so many different ways. "
She sort of missed the point he was making, but he was content that she didn't refute Dynamo King's grandeur, so that at least showed him that she still agreed with the observation -- and that she was getting better at managing her pride. A younger Cherish Pele wouldn't have deigned entertaining the notion that someone was capable of outperforming her in any situation.
Before spending any more time on that, the next wave arrived and hinted at the presence of something greater just over the horizon. Bracing herself, Cherish took her stand against the swarm of viruses that came at them in a furious assault...
" ... "
... and brushed it off remarkably well, without so much as a scratch on her. Her wicked smile was back, and unsuppressed pride erupted from her lips in maniacal laughter, like a warlord that was left amused at her opposition's feeble attempt to harm her.
" Ah-hahahahaaa! "
Fancying herself invincible, she let her weapon rip more devastating shots at her foes, not paying much mind in the way of strategically dispatching them and letting David handle that department while she cut loose -- and he handled it as best he could, knowing it'd require a bit of prep time to get things going while Cherish kept them at bay in the carnage.

Her concern for Noise accumulation seemed even less than before, which made sense considering the Busting Level metric.
